What's it all about?

I have four business card folders containing paper cards of people and businesses I would probably like to contact again.
Often when I go to do this I find the contact details have changed.
This free international community site was born out of the frustration of not being able to find certain service providers.
Not only were there none in the local directory; there were none in the country!

Yellow Pages (paper & online) and Google , are fine for finding businesses, but not necessarily individuals.
White Pages are fine for finding individuals, but what if there are a dozen listings with the same name;
and in which district or countries White Pages do you look for someone you haven't contacted for years?

As a result we have just launched this web site called So Simple Business Card Notice Board. The site is a great way for any business or individual to display their business card or personal card to the world. It is especially useful for those in niche markets such as sales representatives, manufacturers, or repairers of left handed widgets; or services such as unique tour operators, artists, or specialist technical people. You can even propose your own category(s). The choices are limitless and the search engine will find them. All staff with an individual email address can have their own card in a category(s) that suits them. This is a site for people! There is a category search engine, and a people or business names search engine. That means an individual who keeps their business card up to date on the site, can be found by name. That is really useful for customers/clients who have had someone provide great service, then lose that person's contact details.

Upload or create your business card or private card on the on-line Business Card Notice Board. IT'S FREE!
You can upload your card just because you think it is a work of art, like Flickr is for photos, and YouTube is for videos.
But there are better business benefits here.

Now you don't have to place an ad in dozens of newspapers, magazines, or telephone directories to reach your target market. One posting and everyone in the world has access to it. There are provisions to have your customers or clients know whether you provide your goods and services locally, internationally, or somewhere in between. We use a system of categories and sub-categories and Google Maps to find your card and your business.

Both sides of your card can be displayed in a maximum of two categories, with links to your email inbox (Email addresses are not visible. If yours is on your card and you don't want it displayed, blot it out before you upload the card.), and your website if you have one. You can display the face side of your existing card, and use our template to create text to display a back side of your card if you don't already have one.

You only have to upload a copy of your card using a scanner, or digital camera (including mobile phone); or create your own card on our site using a simple template. If any of this proves difficult, ask a teenager for help.

You can replace or edit all of this at any time so it can always be up to date.
How many cards in your business card folder are out of date???

You will find on the site lots of 'Tell a Friend' email modules. Please use them!

If this site is not perfect you should realize I am using one of Picasso's quotes as a creed. "Everyone should have an idea of what they are doing, but it should only be a vague idea!"

FAQs

Q) Why don't the balloons point to the exact location?
A) Our maps are provided by Google. This is an American company so unless the address is unique on the planet, or includes specific country details, the maps will search America first.
Google does not yet have exact details of every place on Earth so there may be large regions (like whole countries) where there is no coverage, or regions where there is limited or inaccurate coverage.
Card holders may not wish to have their exact location posted. They may have only entered their street, suburb, city, county, state, or country.
Users also have the option to drag and drop their balloon to the exact location THEY wish.

Q) What if I wish to delete my card or cards?
A) Contact Us. We will delete your card or cards.

Q) What if I want to change my email address/username?
A) Log in using your old email address/username and password, click the link View/Edit Your Card Details, then update your Login Information

Q) What if I forget my password?
A) Contact Us. We will send your password to you in a separate email.

Q) What if I forget my email address/username?
A) Find your card on the site using your likely categories and Maps. The email address displayed on your card is probably your email address/username.

Q) Why does the posting last for five (5) years?
A) We figure that after five years most people have changed their card or have forgotten to update their card on the site. For years two (2), three (3), and four (4), the owners of posted cards will receive a reminder to be sure their card is up to date.
